February 22, 2018: Enabling Rapid Growth in Business

Dorie Blesoff, Chief People Officer, Relativity

Dorie Blesoff is the Chief People Officer at Relativity whose market-leading e-discovery platform helps legal professionals around the world organize complex data, discover the truth, and act on it. Based in Chicago with an increasingly global presence, Relativity has seen rapid growth during Dorie’s tenure and continues to exhibit a dynamic and sustainable culture while producing excellent business results. Driven by the principle “Grow Your People to Grow Your Business,” Relativity has been laser focused on cultivating its culture based on core values and continuous learning reflected in effective initiatives such as a robust selection process, monthly performance coaching, impactful training investment, career mapping, and other self-organizing development opportunities across the company. Committed to the principles of a growth mindset, Dorie serves as an adjunct professor at Northwestern University’s School of Education & Social Policy in the Learning & Organizational Change degree programs — a role for which she received the Outstanding Professor award in 2008. 

 

Bon French, Executive Chairman, Adams Street Partners

Bon is responsible for the management of Adams Street Partners and actively participates as an investment professional. He is sought out by private equity firms, consultants and investors for advice and recommendations on a variety of private equity topics. Bon has been with Adams Street Partners and its predecessor organizations since 1980 and has been instrumental in the development of its private equity investment strategies, fund management and investor relations.

Bon is Chairman of the Adams Street Partners Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and is a member of the Adams Street Partners Operating Committee. He is a member of the Board of Trustees, Executive Committee and Chairman of the Investment Committee at Northwestern University. He is also a member of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management Dean’s Advisory Council. Bon is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Chicago Leadership Council, the Economic Club of Chicago, and Chairman of the Board of the Center for Railroad Photography and Art. Bon is also a former Director of the National Venture Capital Association, and former Chairman of the Board of the Chicago History Museum, where he remains as a Trustee.

 

Allison Robinson, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, The Mom Project

Allison Robinson is the Founder and CEO of The Mom Project, the leading technology platform for Enterprises to connect with female talent. Under Allison’s leadership, The Mom Project has grown its reach to serve more than 500 customers, including executives of many of the Fortune 500 who’ve long sought a turnkey solution for attracting gender diverse talent. 

Prior to founding The Mom Project, Allison spent eight years with Procter and Gamble managing Enterprise relationships and building consumer-led market strategies. Allison has received coverage in print and broadcast outlets around the world, including the Today Show, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and CNN and has received numerous distinctions such as the P&G 40 under 40 and Chicago Innovation Awards. Allison holds a BS in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of Dayton.

April 19, 2018: Driving a Sustainable Culture of Inclusion

Shawn Mobley, Chief Executive of the Americas, Cushman & Wakefield

As Chief Executive Officer, Americas, Shawn provides strategic vision and leadership for the firm’s more than 190 offices and 28,000 employees in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and South America. He also serves as a member of the firm’s Global Advisory Board, which guides critical decisions to drive a winning, best-in-class firm.

Prior to his current role, Shawn was President of Cushman & Wakefield’s East Region, overseeing the firm’s businesses and operations in the Eastern part of the U.S. and Canada.  

Shawn joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2011 as Executive Vice President and Market Leader for the Chicago area, and later added the oversight of the firm’s operations in the Central Region. He formed Cushman & Wakefield’s Investor Services Group in 2014 (comprised of Capital Markets, Agency Leasing, Asset Services, Project & Development Services, Valuation & Advisory, and Sustainability) with the goal of providing fully integrated solutions for key investor clients. 
Throughout his tenure, Shawn’s focus has been on bringing together the best professionals in the industry to win and service clients at the highest level.  

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Shawn was President of Brokerage Services at Grubb & Ellis, where he oversaw the national brokerage team. He started his commercial real estate career at JLL where he served as Senior Vice President in the Corporate Solutions Group, specializing in advisory and transaction services for global corporate occupiers. Earlier, he was Investment Officer at ABN-AMRO Securities, and also held a marketing position at Procter & Gamble. 

 

Susan Schmitt, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Rockwell Automation

Susan Schmitt is the Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Rockwell Automation, a Fortune 500 company with 22,500 employees serving customers in 80+ countries dedicated to industrial automation and information to make its customers more productive and the world more sustainable.  A member of the senior leadership team, Susan sets global strategies designed to strengthen leadership, build organizational capacity and power the company’s business priorities.

Susan’s innovative mindset and commitment to excellence defines her leadership style. She continually looks to meet today’s global business challenges with creative Human Resources strategies that engage people, enable exceptional performance and support a dynamic, inclusive corporate culture. 

Susan’s more than 30 years of experience provide her with an in-depth understanding of the Human Resources field. In 2016, Susan was named National Academy of Human Resources (NAHR) Fellow, the highest honor that can be achieved by an individual in the Human Resources profession. Susan is also an inspiring author known for her insights into creating value through leadership, talent and corporate culture. 

Susan holds a master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Illinois State University, Bloomington, Ill., and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and French from Albion College in Albion, Michigan. Susan also attended the University of Grenoble, Grenoble, France.


William Von Hoene, Jr., Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, Exelon

As senior executive vice president and chief strategy officer, William A. Von Hoene, Jr. oversees corporate development, corporate strategy, legal, regulatory, government affairs, investments and communications for Exelon, the nation’s number one competitive energy provider and owner of six utility companies. He serves on Exelon’s Executive Committee, and is the chairman and chief executive officer of Constellation Energy Nuclear Group, a joint venture between Exelon and EDF that owns five nuclear units. He also is chairman of the board of Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited.

 

Moderator: Anise Wiley-Little, Author, Profitable Diversity

Anise is an accomplished Senior Executive and Advisory Board Member, with more than 25 years of success across the financial services, human resources, professional services, and management firm industries. Leveraging extensive experience in talent management for educational institutions, she is a valuable asset for financial services, human resources, professional services, and management firms from startup to midsize, seeking assistance with Business operations, business development, turnarounds, change management, strategy assessment and redirection. Her broad areas of expertise include diversity, business operations, building strategy, compensation and talent acquisition. Over the past decade and a half of her career at both Allstate and Kellogg, Anise has played an important role in driving the diversity and inclusion agenda at a national level. 

Throughout her executive career, Anise has held leadership positions with Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, MEGA-K Enterprises LLC, and Allstate Insurance Company. In her role as Chief Human Capital and Diversity Officer and lecturer on leadership for Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management, she has been responsible for building the HR department and diversity practices from ground up, with the implementation of D&I rivaling any corporate top diversity practice. In a concurrent role as Board Member of MEGA-K Enterprises LLC, she has played an integral role in advising diverse suppliers, businesses and executives on HR strategy, as well as all aspects of diversity, supplier diversity and work life. She also conducts executive coaching and personal strategy development for high level executives. In a prior role as Chief Diversity Officer for Allstate Insurance Company, she proved instrumental in orchestrating Allstate’s enterprise wide diversity business strategies, including supplier diversity certification for all underrepresented categories. She also re-engineered the corporate diversity strategy to focus on profitable diversity and economic inclusion. Anise is also the author of Profitable Diversity: How Economic Inclusion Can Lead to Success, published in 2013. Thanks to her work, supplier diversity at Allstate increased by $32M within six months, with the overall total increasing to $1B.

 

June 7, 2018: The Merging of Artificial Intelligence, Work and the Workforce

Shawn Broadfield, Vice President Claim Strategy & Innovation, Allstate Insurance

Throughout his 32 years of experience at Allstate, Shawn has made multiple significant impacts, including recently implementing the multi-year digital transformation of the claims process at Allstate though IDE (Claims Integrated Digital Enterprise).

Prior to his current role, Shawn was co-lead of Next Gen, a multi-year software install of the company’s new claims system. Prior to that, Shawn was President of Sterling Autobody, formally a wholly-owned subsidiary of Allstate Corporation.

 

 

Peter B. Cherecwich, President, Corporate & Institutional Services, Northern Trust Corporation

Pete is an Executive Vice President and a member of Northern Trust’s Management Group in Chicago. Pete currently serves as the President of Corporate & Institutional Services business unit.Northern Trust’s C&IS business unit is a leading provider of asset servicing, investment management, banking and related services to institutional clients worldwide including but not limited to corporate and public pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, supranational organizations, investment management firms, foundations and endowments, healthcare organizations, insurance companies, and other financial institutions. An industry veteran, Pete brings over 25 years of experience in working in a global organization and managing extremely large and complex client relationships. Pete originally joined Northern Trust in July 2007 as Head of Institutional Product and Strategy. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Pete served in various executive and lead operational roles at State Street Bank.

 

Nancy Paridy, JD, LLM, Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, Shirley Ryan AbilityLab

Nancy E. Paridy, JD, LLM, joined the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago) in 1995 as Associate General Counsel and then became General Counsel a few months later. Since then, she came to her current position through successive promotions over the ensuing years. Prior to the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, Ms. Paridy practiced law in the areas of litigation and corporate healthcare.

As a member of the executive management team at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, Ms. Paridy oversees and directs various support functions. She also oversees and directs the organization's human resources (including talent acquisition, leadership and succession planning, total rewards, HRIS, etc.) She is the General Counsel and as such is responsible for all legal matters such as health law, litigation, employment law, joint venture relationships and management agreements, tax, fraud and abuse, regulatory interpretation and guidance, intellectual property, research, operations, corporate compliance, and corporate governance. She also is responsible for the organization's cafeteria, insurance needs, as well as its government and community affairs.

Ravin Jesuthasan is a recognized global thought leader on the future of work and human capital.  He has led numerous research efforts on the global workforce, the emerging digital economy and the transformation of work. Ravin was the lead partner for the World Economic Forum’s ground breaking study; Shaping the Future Implications of Digital Media for Society. He has led numerous large-scale, global restructuring and transformation engagements for his clients. 

Ravin has been a featured speaker on the aforementioned topics at conferences in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Latin America. He has also been featured and quoted extensively by leading business media including CNN, The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, CNBC, Fortune, FT, Human Capital (China), Les Echoes (France), Valor Economico (Brazil), Business Times (Malaysia), Globe and Mail (Canada), South China Morning Post, Dubai One TV and The Australian among others. Ravin has been a participant and presenter at the World Economic Forum’s annual meetings in Davos and Dalian.

He has been recognized as one of the top 25 most influential consultants in the world by Consulting Magazine. He is the author of Transformative HR and the recently released, Lead The Work: Navigating a World Beyond Employment. Ravin has authored over 25 articles and his article in the HR People and Strategy Journal entitled Performance Management as a Business Discipline received the 2014 Walker Award for the most original and valuable contribution to the HR profession.
